Taiwan Quick Take: Swazi king arrives

King Mswati III of Swaziland and Inkhosikati LaDube, his 12th wife, arrived in Taipei with a 40-strong economic and cultural delegation yesterday for a six-day visit, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A ceremony in honor of the king's arrival will be held at 10:30am today at the plaza in front of the Presidential Office. The statement said that Mswati's entourage includes the ministers of foreign affairs, economics, labor affairs and energy, as well as industry and business leaders. The king and his entourage are scheduled to meet with President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) during their stay and to attend the annual "Africa Day" activities today.
