Taiwan Quick Take: PTS launches new show

A special program entitled The Way Out -- Listening to the People's Voices will be aired from today at 11pm for four consecutive nights on the Public Television Service (PTS), the station's foundation said yesterday. This will be the first joint production by PTS and the Chinese Television System (CTS), which joined the public broadcasting system in April, the foundation said. The program will invite civic groups, women, working people, faculty, students and representatives from other sectors of society to talk about five subjects -- "identity crisis and political confrontation," "bottlenecks in Taiwan's economic development and ways of breaking through them," "social dilemmas and ethnic conflict," "the next step for the education system," and "how can Taiwan's diplomatic deadlock be broken?"
