A recent poll on public rating of social order conducted by the Ministry of the Interior showed that 92.28 percent of respondents from Penghu were happy with the social order in their area, topping the list of all cities and counties in the country. Penghu police chief Kuan Cheng-che (官政哲) said that the county police succeeded in lowering Penghu residents' fears about crime through an efficient promotion of anti-crime knowledge based on cooperation with the central government. The tallies compiled by the ministry and made public last Thursday, showed that Penghu County ranked first in terms of satisfaction with the general social order, low theft rate and the government's efforts to boost social order and general services provided by Penghu police to residents.
