An undersea earthquake measuring 5.1 in magnitude rocked the southern tip of the nation yesterday but did not cause any damage or casualties, officials said. The undersea tremor struck at 8:39am with its epicenter 62km southeast of Lanyu (ÄõÀ¬), an island off the coast of Taitung, the Seismology Center said. A seismologist said the quake was felt only in Lanyu and in the town of Hengchun («í¬K) on the southernmost tip of Taiwan.
