Three pan-blue lawmakers expressed opposition yesterday to a supplementary budget plan for the planned procurement of a package of arms from the US and for a plan to build an airport on an island in the South China Sea. Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) legislators Lin Yu-fang (林郁方) and Su Chi (蘇起), and New Party Legislator Wu Cheng-tien (吳成典), who are members of the legislature's National Defense Committee, said they would not agree to review the supplementary budget of NT$6.2 billion (US$195 million) as it was wrong for the government to propose such a budget. The Executive Yuan approved the budget plan during a meeting held last Wednesday.
