Taiwan Quick Take: Man charged with trafficking

A Malaysian man named Haidar Basyar was detained yesterday for attempting to bring 2,300g of heroin into the country. According to officials at CKS International Airport, Basyar, 20, was found with the drugs -- which were hidden in a bottle -- as he entered the country from Bangkok on Saturday night. The suspect appeared nervous, attracting the attention of the police. Police said the suspect was uncooperative and refused to say where the drugs were from or what he intended to do with them. Taoyuan prosecutors have charged Basyar with transporting heroin.
