A wanted fugitive was brought back to Taiwan yesterday from Manila after he was handed over by Philippines immigration authorities to Taiwan's Investigation Bureau officers stationed in Manila. The 47-year-old fugitive, identified as Wang Duen-huang (王燉煌), was intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on May 6 by Philippines immigration officers as he was preparing to boards a China Southern Airlines flight to Xiamen in Fujian Province. The authorities were acting on a tipoff provided by Manila-based Taiwanese intelligence agents. The Pingtung County Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant for Wang on Oct. 28 last year after he was found to have fled to China and then to the Philippines. Wang was given a one-year jail term on charges of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law (藥事法) by the Pingtung Prosecutor's Office after being convicted of operating an unlicensed drug factory in 2001 in Kaohsiung County.

In a video clip provided by the Coalition of Students Resisting the CCP (Chinese Communist Party), Taiwanese-American Cosette Wu (吳亭樺) and Tibetan-American Tsering Yangchen are seen holding banners that together read:
