CORRECTION

In yesterday's issue, ("Prostitutes to ride for more rights," page 2) we incorrectly reported that the Taipei City Government made prostitution illegal in 2001 when President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) was mayor. The legislation was passed in 1997 when Chen was mayor, but was not implemented until 2001, by which time he was president. The Taipei Times regrets the error.
