Taiwan Quick Take: Slovakia added to 30-day list

To attract more European tourists, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday that it included Slovakia in the 30-day landing visa program as of last Saturday. The move is part of the government's six-year initiative to double the number of foreign tourists to 5 million by 2008. Landing visas are also given to visitors from the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, while visitors from another 18 European nations enjoy visa-free privileges.
