Taiwan Quick Take: Chen-Ma meet on Monday

    Friday, Mar 31, 2006, Page 4

A date for the meeting between President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) and Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Chairman Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) was finalized yesterday. The two will meet on Monday at 3pm at the Presidential Office, according to Presidential Office Spokesman David Lee (李南陽). The Presidential Office had originally hoped that the two could meet at 10:30am today, when the president would be available. But KMT Secretary-General Chan Chun-po (詹春柏) said it would be difficult for Ma to change his schedule, as he was busy campaigning for a KMT candidate in a by-election for county magistrate in Taitung County.
