Taiwan Quick Take: Lee Teng-hui recovering

Former Lee Teng-hui (李登輝) is recovering from flu, his fever has ended and he is getting good rest at the hospital, Taiwan Solidarity Union (TSU) Chairman Shu Chin-chiang (蘇進強) said yesterday. Lee was admitted to Taipei Veterans General Hospital on March 19 because of fever, influenza and diarrhea. Shu said Lee stayed up late to prepare a speech in Taoyuan's Tahsi Township (大溪) last week and caught a cold as a result. When asked about the former president's condition, hospital authorities said he was "fine."
