In response, KMT Legislator Hung Hsiu-chu (洪秀柱) said that her caucus supports the DPP's proposal to bring those held responsible for the scandal to justice. But she added that she would like to see the DPP administration adopt the same standards and attitude in tackling other high-profile cases such as the Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corp (KRTC) scandal, "vulture" insider trading and the Taiwan High-Speed Rail Corp (THSRC) scandal.
Hung questioned why the DPP government waited until just before the elections to delve into the Lafayette case, and why the DPP did not include Lee Teng-hui (李登輝), who was president at the time of the frigate deal, in their allegations.
