Malls are tops for entertainment: poll

Core Pacific City's Living Mall was named Taipei's most popular entertainment destination in an online survey released yesterday, with the Miramar Entertainment Park coming in a close second.

A total of 18,142 online users voted in the survey, held by the Taipei City Government under the sponsorship of Mio Technology Corp. Core Pacific City's Living Mall led the Miramar Entertainment Park by a slight margin -- only 64 votes.

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall ranked third, followed by Taipei 101 Mall -- the new landmark of the city and the tallest building in the world.

Yangmingshan National Park and the National Palace Museum won fifth and sixth places, respectively.

The other favorite places in the top 10 were: the Shihlin Night Market, the Taipei Zoo, Maokung -- a popular place in the suburb of Mucha for tea lovers -- and the former residence of Chiang Kai-shek in Shihlin.

Two spots that failed to make the top 10 list by only about 20 votes were the Peitou Hot Springs Museum and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
