Kaohsiung riot exposes flaws of brokerage system

In response, Fan Lai-chin (方來進), director of Kaohsiung City Government's Bureau of Labor Affairs, said that both he and the labor council acknowledge the problems and hopes the incident would speed up solving them.

"The labor council should sit down and talk with brokerage companies," he said. "Improvements must be made if their requests make sense."
