Taipei police raided a party early yesterday at a makeshift nightclub, seizing more than 100 ecstasy and ketamine pills and detaining 93 men.

Investigations showed that the illegal night club in Chungshan District's Nongan St was actually a crudely converted apartment, and included a dance floor.
It was then raided in the early hours of yesterday morning.
"The flat in the apartment was renovated a couple of weeks ago to be noise-proof so you couldn't hear anything from outside the building," Lin said.
"During the raid, we discovered 93 men dancing and taking drugs," he said.
The police alleged that one room in the flat was used specifically for sex.
Gary Yang (楊貴光), the flat's owner, had allegedly provided free condoms for the guests, who had been participating in parties at the apartment every two to three weeks.
During the raid, the police allegedly discovered more than 100 ecstasy and ketamine pills.
Yang was said to have told police that most of the party-goers were normal "nine-to-five people" who used to party at the "Texound" nightclub, an establishment said to have seen regular ecstasy use.
After frequent police raids, however, the men had decided to rent an apartment to hold parties in private, Lin said.
All men were later detained at Yuanshan police station pending the results of urine tests.

Heat advisories were in effect for nine administrative regions yesterday afternoon as warm southwesterly winds pushed temperatures above 38°C in parts of southern Taiwan, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said. As of 3:30pm yesterday, Tainan’s Yujing District (玉井) had recorded the day’s highest temperature of 39.7°C, though the measurement will not be included in Taiwan’s official heat records since Yujing is an automatic rather than manually operated weather station, the CWA said. Highs recorded in other areas were 38.7°C in Kaohsiung’s Neimen District (內門), 38.2°C in Chiayi City and 38.1°C in Pingtung’s Sandimen Township (三地門), CWA data showed. The spell of scorching
