Lee said Chen has ignored the nation's economic woes and rising unemployment.
"The president attended 71 banquets from June 7 to Aug. 23. ... He should sit in the Presidential Office and concentrate on improving the country's economy and unemployment," Lee said.
Lee said he suspected Chen may have misappropriated funds from the Presidential Office budget for the feasts.
KMT Legislator Kwan Yuk-noan (關沃暖) called Chen a "big-eater" president who was good for nothing.
A Presidential Office spokesman said the government paid for national banquets for visiting foreign leaders and formal dinners that were held for official business.
"But the president never took even one penny from the budget to pay for feasts that were held in private, including dinner parties with his supporters," Huang said.
Huang reminded the KMT lawmakers that their remarks might insult the president with their inappropriate wording.

The Taipei Department of Health yesterday said it has launched a probe into a restaurant at Far Eastern Sogo Xinyi A13 Department Store after a customer died of suspected food poisoning.
