During a two-month period from May 1 to June 30, the public is encouraged to take advantage of the toll-free numbers of 118 and 110 to inform the authorities about such activities.
Informants helping law enforcement officers successfully nab a stowaway will be entitled to a NT$1,000 per head reward. The financial reward for smuggling tip-offs is double.
Fishing boats and people on board will be put under a 10-day compulsory quarantine if they're found to be conducting illegal trades with people from China.
