The porn monarchy gets dethroned

According to local media, 20-year-old Hsuen-hsuen (瑄瑄), Taiwan's best-known adult video actress, has been arrested. Taiwan's "Queen of Porn" began her career so that she could pay the bills for her hospitalized mother.

The media reports say that since achieving fame, Hsuen-hsuen has appeared on TV talk shows to talk about her acting experience and her plans to go to Japan to exploit its market. Following her arrest, her agent was reported as saying that "She was getting too much exposure."

Hsuen-hsuen started out by hosting a cable-TV show while completely naked. According to reports, it was her financial needs, youth, daring and good looks that made her decide to begin making show-everything adult videos at NT$100,000 a pop. As she was the provider for her family, other family members could have no say about her decision.

Hsuen-hsuen's idol is said to be actress Shu Chi (舒淇), who started out making erotic movies. Hsuen-hsuen said that even though she makes adult videos, it was strictly a case of selling her art, not her body, adding that she had never sold sex outside of the film studio.

Her desire was to become an actress once she had made a name for herself, the reports said. Therefore, she wanted to make adult movies in Japan to increase her fame before returning to Taiwan.

It appears that along with Hsuen-hsuen herself, that plan is on hold.

Local media also reported that another adult video star, A-hsien (阿賢), or "The Taiwanese Plumber," often viewed as the king of local porn movies, has been arrested. He reportedly made six movies over the last year, including two gay-sex movies.

Police sources said locally made pornographic movies have become very popular lately and that ads openly looking for actors and actresses can be found in local media. As a result, the police are planning a large-scale anti-pornography operation in the near future.
