NT$50 billion jobs bill a major Cabinet headache

CONTROVERSY The best laid plans of the Cabinet have been all but spiked by blue-camp legislators who don't want the government to gain political capital

The Cabinet has requested an additional budget of NT$19.9 billion for the NT$20 billion public service program from the legislature.

To fund the NT$50-billion public construction project, the Cabinet plans to issue government bonds totaling NT$45.3 billion. The other NT$4.7 billion will come from the leftover annual budget from the previous year.
