Police have arrested a man believed to be behind a string of sexual attacks in which victims were forced to imitate scenes from Japanese adult videos.
"The Wolf of Japanese Adult Video," as the attacker has been dubbed by the media, is wanted for the sexual harassment of 11 women in Taipei City. The victims were made to masturbate him while wearing long white socks, a common scene in some Japanese adult movies, which often depict sex with school girls.
"We arrested [the suspect] at his residence in Mucha," said Huang Shih-ching (
"His explanation was that he was under too much pressure from school," Huang said.
Police said the suspect is 21 years old and surnamed Cheng, but refused to release any further details.
According to police, the Wolf would carry a pair of long socks, a knife and a digital video camera when he carried out the attacks. After picking a victim, he would use the knife to threaten her and then force her to wear the long socks before making the victim masturbate him with her hands or feet.
Police officers are still encouraging other victims of the Wolf to step forward and identify Cheng.
"We believe there are more victims out there. Please come forward and tell us your story," Huang said.
According to Cheng's testimony, he finished his military service last year and is a college drama student at a national university in northern Taiwan. He told police that he likes to watch Japanese adult videos and would imitate the films as he carried out his attacks.
Police inquires show that the Wolf hunted alone between 9pm to midnight, though would never physically assault his victims.
The Wolf would also shoot footage of the attack on a digital video camera.

"It seems to me that Cheng is suffering from a psychological illness," Huang said. "Since he watches a lot of Japanese adult videos, he feels hurt if he cannot impersonate the characters in these adult videos so he keeps on committing crimes," he said.
