The Directorate General of Posts is looking for a person to head the soon-to-be incorporated agency with NT$300 billion in revenues and 26,000 employees.
The institution is scheduled to be incorporated on Jan. 1 next year and will change its name to Chunghwa Post Co Ltd (
The change comes as the company prepares for its privatization, whose date will be determined by the new head.
The pay for the top spot is NT$175,000 per month plus year-end bonuses of as much as 4.6 months.
The agency is the second state-owned institution to adopt the new recruitment practice.

"We welcome ROC citizens who are under the age of 62 and meet the requirements to compete for the job," Lee said.
Candidates must have served as a general manager for two years or vice general manager for three years at a public or private company whose annual business volume has averaged at least NT$5 billion over the past five years, or whose employees number more than 1,000.
Candidates are also welcome to apply if they can prove that they have served at a government agency as an administrator -- at a position ranked 12 or above on the government's 14-point scale -- or served at a state-run enterprise as vice general manager or above for three years.
Also encouraged to apply are people who have served as the proprietor of a non-profit organization whose annual membership has averaged at least 5,000 people over the past five years, whose annual revenues have exceeded NT$500 million, or whose employees number more than 1,000.
Anyone who has taught as an assistant professor at a college or university -- either in Taiwan or abroad -- or who has practical administrative or managerial experience, may also apply.
Potential candidates can apply for the job between next Wednesday and Dec. 11.
The government will conduct the first two stages of review for the applicants between Dec. 12 and Dec. 26.
The premier will then choose the best candidate from a list of two or three by the end of January next year.
The chosen candidate will then have a maximum of 45 days to get ready for his or her new job.
