"Since people in the south do not participate as much as those in the north, I plan to move the lottery-drawing ceremony to southern Taiwan more often."

Richard Yang, general manager of TaipeiBank's lottery department.

The drawing of the winning numbers of the Public Welfare Lottery was moved to Kaohsiung from Taipei for the first time yesterday, local media reported.

The winning numbers for the 68th issue of Taiwan's Public Welfare Lottery drawn on Sept. 13 were 07, 08, 14, 16, 20 and 23 -- with the special number 13.

According to the lottery department of TaipeiBank (¥x¥_»È¦æ), the drawing of the winning numbers was moved to southern Taiwan in order to attract business. The whole event was held outdoors at the square in front of a department store in downtown Kaohsiung.

Due to the rainy weather in southern Taiwan over the last few days, t lottery ticket sales were not as good as the bank had expected.

"Since people in the south do not participate as much as those in the north, I plan to move the lottery-drawing ceremony to southern Taiwan more often," said Richard Yang (·¨·çªF), general manager of the bank's lottery department.

On Jan. 16, a total of 1.54 million lotto tickets were sold nationwide on the first day of the new computerized lottery.

On August 2, the record-high NT$750 million grand prize had millions of lotto buyers going lotto crazy again. Six multi-millionaires emerged on that night after winning around NT$125 million each.
