A single Hsinchu ticket buyer won last night's super lottery jackpot, walking away with a cool NT$238 million, TaipeiBank (
The winning numbers of 23, 24, 30, 31, 34, and 41 -- in combination with a special ball number, 42 -- sent the jackpot up an extra NT$100 million.
Sagging sales of the computerized lottery have spurred TaipeiBank to offer a potential double jackpot this month to boost its sales volume.
The real winner was the TaipeiBank, with total sales for the 65th computerized lottery amounting to NT$693 million, while they gave away prizes worth only NT$388 million, according to the bank.
Besides the top-prize winner, 12 people won the second prize worth NT$3.24 million.
Another 361 lucky gamblers won the third prize, valued at NT$134,713.
The so-called super jackpot can be won during any of five draws from yesterday to Sept. 17.
Yesterday's draw was held in Kaohsiung to stimulate lottery sales there.
