Fan also noted Chen's care toward other members of the party. "She even tried to pass a message from jail to comfort me when she learned about my father's death," Fan said.
Though her tough stance toward Thailand and Indonesia is controversial, Chen says she'll never give up any chance to fight for Taiwanese. "I have a dream to see every individual be treated equally in Taiwan," Chen said. "If political work can help me practice my concerns toward humanity, I will spend all of my life on it."
