Meanwhile, Yu's wife, Yang Pao-yu (楊寶玉) visited the Poas Active Volcano Park and Peace Cataract Park on Sunday morning. Located 2,700m above sea level, the Poas volcano, the world's second-largest active volcano, last erupted in 1910.

Yu was scheduled to hold interviews with Costa Rican media yesterday morning, followed by his visit to the legislative assembly. He was also scheduled to meet with Costa Rican President Abel Pacheco at noon and hold a joint press conference in the afternoon.

Yu was due to leave for Belize at 4pm yesterday.
