Brothel catering to Taiwanese raided in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnamese police raided a penthouse restaurant and brothel catering to Taiwanese businessmen in Ho Chi Minh City and arrested 60 people, an official said yesterday.

The raid Wednesday on the Tan Hoang Hai restaurant on the top floor in central Ho Chi Minh City was the latest in Vietnam's crackdown on " social evils" including prostitution, drugs and gambling.

Most customers were Taiwanese who paid US$20 dollars to have sex in rooms inside the restaurant and US$33 dollars to take a prostitute out for the evening.

"The most we can do to the Taiwanese customers is give them an administrative fine, the official said.
