The irresistible FOOD TAIPEI 2005 has arrived! This event that run from June 16th through 19, will once again take the lead in changing tastes with new flavors and concepts. This year's show brings together a record 32 national pavilions to display a world of flavor - and that's just one attractions! The organizer, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), has also prepared two brand new sections, A Taste of Cuisine and A Taste of Taiwan Wine. This is the best opportunity for foreign as well as local buyers and exhibitors to grasp a taste of genuine Taiwan cuisine and wine, and of course the beauty of Taiwanese wine colonies.
To cover every facet in the food industry and offer the most convenience to all buyers and exhibitors in the field, TAITRA this year is placing FOODTECH TAIPEI and TAIPEI PACK side by side with FOOD TAIPEI. A total of 815 exhibitors from home and abroad will get together to use 2,160 booths that blanket the first and second floors of TWTC Hall one, as well as Hall 3.
A Taste of Taiwan Cuisine - The Best Ever from Six Top Chefs
FOOD TAIPEI is bringing together chefs from Taiwan's five top hotels, namely the Ambassador, Grand, Evergreen Laurel, Agora Garden, Caesar Park, and also Kaohsiung Hospitality College to present their specialties at Taste of Taiwan Cuisine, a feature section on the second floor of TWTC Hall one. Many of these hotels are nightly featured in the news for hosting presidential receptions and banquets. They now offer a chance for everyone to see and sample V.I.P. treats.
The Ambassador Hotel takes "Feast of a beautiful spirit" as the theme of its cuisine and beautifully presents the best mixture of delicacy and health.
For example, "A dishful of gold and jade" is a wonderful combination of organic vegetables, ferns and indigenous salad and precious ingredients like adductor shell fish, fish maw and abalone are used to make "Four delicacies". "When the dragon meets the phoenix" is a feast of fried lobster with chili chicken, and "Five grains for well-being" renders the hearty taste of five-grains prepared together with braised small meatballs.
Meanwhile, Evergreen Laurel Hotel, will feature two delicate feasts, "Plum season" and "King prawn with fruit". Various fruit and seafood are used in both traditional Chinese dishes to bring fresh new flavors to summer-friendly Chinese dishes.
To-fu definitely cannot miss the cuisine "To-Fu Set" prepared by Agora Garden Hotel. Eight fabulous dishes are displayed in the eight different colors of red, orange, yellow, green, white, blue, navy blue and purple, to highlight the artistic works of Li, Chi-mao and Chen, Gin-lian.
The eight dishes are cold tofu platter with condiments, steamed tofu meat balls with red miso, orange rice roll with pumpkin and soy bean milk, seafood and soy bean milk custard with mango sauce, steamed tofu balls with seaweed and crab meat, blueberry and tofu ice cream, lavender and tofu pie, and puff pastry with tofu.
The chefs from the Grand Hotel will display the perfect delicacies with healthy material that will satisfy the fussiest of tastes.
Discover "Tuna with yam and asparagus roll", "Dumpling soup in pumpkin cup", "Pan-fried chicken legs with black rice and pine nuts", and "Mango tower with coconut cream". This line-up of flavor will certainly draw the crowds.
A delightful dimension to banquet feasting is opened by the masters at the Caesar Park Hotel Taipei who are introducing various local dishes to let overseas buyers savor the multiple flavors of Taiwan. Nearby will be the Kaohsiung Hospitality College. They will use livestock, seafood and forestry products to create gourmet wonders.

Scout the six wine ranches that have just been certified by the Agriculture and Food Agency under the Council of Agriculture who will exhibit in FOOD TAIPEI for the first time. They will demonstrate how local agricultural products are being utilized to offer their wine unique flavors, while introducing the beauty of Taiwanese wine ranches.
Each wine ranch has their specialty due to different produce, soils, and climates. For example, Ta-hu grows the best strawberry in Taiwan and Ta-hu Wine Ranch has the advantage to decanting unique strawberry wine and the plum wine. The tastes are so smooth that you just can't put down your glass.
To sample the best grape wine in Taiwan head for the Shu-sen Wine Ranch in Hou-li. Even President Chen Shui-Bian praised this rare Hou-li wine as being as good those from Bordeaux. Visitors to the 2.8-hectare vine yard near Hou-li often praise to beauty of this region as being as scenic as southern French.
