DishHD, a high-definition direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television service, has taken over from StarSports in providing live English Premier League soccer action for fans in Taiwan this season.

Each weekend, subscribers with an “EPL Pass” can watch five live games, with simulcasting on five channels, so fans need not miss their favorite team’s matches, DishHD Taiwan’s senior marketing manager Rita Lee said.

DishHD is also showing Premier League World as well as preview and review shows.

Lee said the “EPL Pass” package has proven popular with local soccer fans and that many members of the expat community, including members of the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei and the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan, have signed up.

DishHD, which has been operating in Taiwan since 2010, also broadcasts Spanish La Liga games on Fox Sports Plus, along with NBA TV, All Sports Network HD, the Golf Channel and Extreme Sports.

New customers can receive 44 channels for NT$499 per month for 12 months.

To access live Premier League action, subscribers must then sign up for the “EPL Pass” package at NT$1,000 for 12 months, which incudes 10 matches per week, a total of 380 matches for the season.

There is a one-time installation fee of NT$2,800 for new customers, which includes a satellite dish, set-top-box and a 30m cable line.
