Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin yesterday brought good cheer and fun to children in a remote village in Hualien County, the same place he made a charity visit to last year.

After arriving in Shoufeng Township (壽豐鄉), the 24-year-old NBA star played tag with local elementary school students, even showing his support for the game’s losing players by doing push-ups alongside them.

Lin had originally hoped for a game of basketball with the children, but his tight schedule did not leave enough time for it.

The Harvard graduate, who is the first Taiwanese-American to play in the NBA, arrived in Taiwan on Wednesday for an eight-day visit, during which he will attend several endorsement events, followed by an evangelical gathering.

Lin and his friend, Rockets forward Chandler Parsons, will also co-host a basketball camp for high school and college students from Sunday to Tuesday. He is scheduled to leave Taiwan for China on Wednesday.
