Cardiff will go into the Premier League as Championship winners after clinching the second tier title with a 1-1 draw at Burnley yesterday.

Malky Mackay’s side had already ended their 51-year wait for promotion to the top-flight thanks to their midweek draw with Charlton and now they are guaranteed to finish the season in first place as well.

The Bluebirds knew a point at Turf Moor would be enough to seal the trophy and they were well on the way when Craig Conway put them ahead with a fine finish in the 27th minute.

South Korea’s Kim Bo-kyung had threaded a pass through to Conway, who worked the ball on to his right foot and curled it home.

Burnley grabbed an equalizer in second half stoppage-time when David Edgar headed past David Marshall from close-range to deny the Welsh visitors their 11th away victory of the season.

However, Cardiff held on for the final few moments to clinch the title.
