Three three-pointers by Yueh Ying-li helped the Dacin Tigers outscore Kinmen Liquor 24-10 in the second quarter as the Cats went on to defeat the Distillers 94-85 at the Sinjhuang Sport Complex in New Taipei City last night for their second straight win.
Yueh would end up with 18 points off the bench to give skipper Hsu Chih-chao just enough fire power to make up for the absence of top scorer Tien Lei in his best outing this season by far.
Kinmen Liquor showed no signs of being the last-place squad early in the game with 21 points in the opening frame to take a surprising 21-20 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.
However, the mistakes soon caught up with them as they shot a horrendous five-for-15 from the field, while allowing the Tigers take 24 points to find themselves trailing 44-31 at the half.
After a hard-fought third quarter, the Distillers put up 24 points to reduce the deficit to under 10.
However, it was the Tigers who had the last laugh as they matched the Distillers with 30 points in the fourth to put the game away long before the final buzzer.
