Rising swell
Reigning three-time professional world surfing champion Andy Irons of Hawaii prepares to defend his Billabong Pro title on Monday at Supertubes, Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. The Billabong Pro will prove crucial in the race for this year's world title, after the ratings opened up when the top five seeded surfers tumbled out early in the Rip Curl Search earlier this month. With the swell rising at the world famous break, the contest organizers were hopeful of a round-one start yesterday.
