Jameis Winston, perhaps entering a make-or-break season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on Saturday night threw for 226 yards and a pair of scores to lead his club to a 30-14 pre-season victory over the host Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium.
Winston, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 draft, faced off against the man taken right behind him, Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota.
However, their nights were much, much different. While Mariota played only two series, Winston played the entire first half, leading Tampa Bay to a 20-7 lead at the break.

Often criticized for his immaturity on and off the field, Winston is suspended for the first three games of the regular season after the NFL concluded that he touched a female Uber driver “in an inappropriate and sexual manner without her consent” in 2016.
On Saturday, he completed 13 of 18 passes and compiled a 151.4 passer rating. While Mariota did not get much action, he completed four of seven passes for 80 yards and a 47-yard scoring strike to second-year wide receiver Taywan Taylor in the first quarter.
Taylor finished the game with four catches for 95 yards and both scores for the Titans.

MLB on Friday announced a formal investigation into the scandal swirling around Shohei Ohtani and his former interpreter amid charges that the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar was the victim of “massive theft.” The Dodgers on Wednesday fired Ippei Mizuhara, Ohtani’s long-time interpreter and close friend, after Ohtani’s representatives alleged that the Japanese two-way star had been the victim of theft, which was reported to involve millions of dollars and link Mizuhara to a suspected illegal bookmaker in California. “Major League Baseball has been gathering information since we learned about the allegations involving Shohei Ohtani and Ippei Mizuhara from the news media,” MLB
