Martinez busts a move
Roberto Martinez found himself an unexpected social media sensation on Friday after footage emerged of the Everton manager showing off some dubious dance moves at a pop concert. The video of Martinez dancing at a Jason Derulo gig in Manchester went viral as it was shared thousands of times by amused fans. When asked about his night out by reporters, the 42-year-old Spaniard responded in good natured fashion and admitted the video did not capture his best dancing. “I’m a big fan. It is always good to get inspiration from creative people,” he said of top US pop star Derulo. “I have better moves believe me. Probably that [seen on the video] was the worst move.”

Katusha suspend Vorganov
Russian cyclist Eduard Vorganov was suspended by his Katusha team on Friday for testing positive for meldonium, which was only placed on the banned list last month. The 33-year-old becomes the second Katusha rider to fail a drugs test in 12 months after Italy’s Luca Paolini tested positive for cocaine on last year’s Tour de France. “We understand that the adverse analytical finding concerns the substance meldonium [also known as mildronate] which was placed on the prohibited list only on Jan. 1, 2016,” a team statement said. Katusha added that Vorganov has been suspended from all team activities, effective immediately while his B sample is tested.

MLB on Friday announced a formal investigation into the scandal swirling around Shohei Ohtani and his former interpreter amid charges that the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar was the victim of “massive theft.” The Dodgers on Wednesday fired Ippei Mizuhara, Ohtani’s long-time interpreter and close friend, after Ohtani’s representatives alleged that the Japanese two-way star had been the victim of theft, which was reported to involve millions of dollars and link Mizuhara to a suspected illegal bookmaker in California. “Major League Baseball has been gathering information since we learned about the allegations involving Shohei Ohtani and Ippei Mizuhara from the news media,” MLB
