Washington’s Alex Ovechkin scored two goals, helping lift the Capitals to a 3-2 win at Minnesota.
Evgeny Kuznetsov also had a goal for the Capitals, who won their third straight to move into a tie for fifth in the East. Ovechkin’s 13th multi-goal game this season improved his NHL-leading goal total to 47.

Florida’s Jaromir Jagr scored his 718th NHL goal, moving into fifth place on the career list, and added an assist to help the Panthers beat Detroit 3-1.
Jagr, who gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead, passed Phil Esposito for sole possession of fifth place. Scottie Upshall and Brandon Pirri also scored for Florida.
