The Topco Scientific Falcons rallied from behind for the second straight game with five unanswered runs to top league leaders Taipower 5-3 at the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium yesterday afternoon.
Following their 4-3 win on Friday afternoon, in which the Falcons scored three unanswered runs to avoid defeat by a narrow margin, yesterday afternoon’s contest saw the Power Crew draw first blood in the opening frame when Lin Keng-wei connected on an RBI single to drive in the first run of the game.
Taipower padded their lead by two in the bottom of the second when Lee Tsong-hsien tripled to drive in the runner from second and scored on Tsai Chih-yu’s single on the ensuing play to make it 3-0.

That was the extent to which Taipower hung in the game, as the Falcons plated two in the fourth on the merit of back-to-back singles by Chiang Chien-min and Lin Chia-ching to make it a one-run contest and pull their team ahead for good with three runs off wild Taipower pitching in the sixth.
Lin went on to finish the game on perfect four-for-four batting to lead the Falcons offense.
Reliever Huang Sheng-wen was credited with the win while the loss was charged against his counterpart, Lei Kai-dee.

Chen Chun-sho showed off his red-hot bat with a three-run homer in the top of the eighth as he rallied Taitung’s Chii Lih Coral past Veetime at the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium last night.
It was the second straight game in which the former Cleveland Indians minor leaguer has gone deep against the opposing pitching following his five-RBI effort in Friday’s game.
