South Korea’s Ryu So-yeon took the lead after the second round at the Swinging Skirts World Ladies Masters tournament yesterday, while Yani Tseng struggled.
Starting with a four-under 68 in the first round on Friday, Ryu remained in form yesterday, carding six birdies and one bogey to finish the round nine-under with a two-round total of 135.
Ryu was at nine-under for the tournament through nine holes, two shots ahead of Lydia Ko of New Zealand, who carded three birdies on her first nine holes.
Tseng had a rocky second round as the former world No. 1 had two double-bogeys, four bogeys and only two birdies to finish tied for 18th at two-over 146.
The local favorite had a nice start on Friday when she had five birdies and one bogey to card a first-round four-under 68.
Ninety-five players are competing in the tournament, which finishes today at the Linkou Miramar Golf Country Club in New Taipei City, where different display installations by local artist Hung Yi have been set up at each tee.
