Minnesota beat Maple Leafs 2-1 in shootout match

Minnesota’s Zach Parise and Jason Pominville scored in the shootout to give the Wild a 2-1 win over Toronto on Wednesday, moving within two points of the Central Division lead.

Parise tied the game late in the third period, sending the Wild into a shootout for the third-straight game, and they made it five wins from six games.

Mason Raymond scored a power-play goal for Toronto, who have scored just three regulation goals in their past four outings.

Philadelphia’s Brayden Schenn scored twice and backup goalie Ray Emery stopped 30 shots to lead the Flyers to a 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh.

Schenn opened the scoring late in the first period and got the tiebreaker late in the second.

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby scored his ninth goal of the season, and his first in eight games, but the Penguins went down to a third-straight loss.

Dallas’ Kari Lehtonen stopped 22 shots for his 23rd career shutout to lead the Stars to a 3-0 win over Edmonton.
