PREMIER LEAGUE: Focus on Goodison Park, Old Trafford

RELEGATION DOGFIGHT:While the world watches Alex Ferguson’s last match in charge at Old Trafford, there are still issues to be resolved at the bottom of the table

AFP, LONDON

Chelsea’s visit to Aston Villa today has significance at both ends of the table, with the third-placed Blues looking for the win that would effectively seal their place in next season’s Champions League, while Villa can guarantee their survival with a victory.

Tottenham Hotspur cannot afford to drop points at Stoke City as Andre Villas-Boas’ fifth-placed side try to keep the pressure on Chelsea and fourth-placed Arsenal, who do not play this weekend due to Wigan Athletic’s involvement in the FA Cup final.

Newcastle United, three points above the bottom three, travel to already-relegated Queens Park Rangers in dire need of a win.

Norwich City, at home to West Bromwich Albion, and Sunderland, who host Southampton, are level on points with Newcastle and equally desperate for three points.
