Laura Robson (Britain) beat Edina Gallovits-Hall (Romania) 6-2, 6-1, while Monica Niculescu (Romania) beat Zheng Saisai (China) 6-4, 7-5.

Annika Beck (Germany) beat Garbine Muguruza Blanco (Spain) 6-2, 6-7, 6-4, 4-6.
