The Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico earned victories on Tuesday to guarantee places in the quarter-finals of the men’s Olympic basketball qualifying tournament.
Al Horford scored 30 points to lead the Dominican Republic to a 95-85 victory over South Korea.
South Korea lost to Russia 91-56 on Monday. The two losses in Group C eliminate South Korea from the quarter-finals and mean Russia also advances.
In Group A, Puerto Rico defeated Jordan 93-52.
Jordan lost to Greece on Monday 107-63, putting Jordan out of the quarter-finals with two losses. Jordan’s second loss means Greece is into the quarter-finals.
In Group D, Macedonia defeated New Zealand 84-62. In Group B, Lithuania defeated Venezuela 100-82.
The four quarter-finalists from Groups D and B were scheduled to be determined yesterday.
