Taiwanese pitcher Chen Wei-yin is scheduled to start for the Baltimore Orioles in a spring training game against the Minnesota Twins today, his fourth spring outing for the Orioles, the Major League Baseball Web site announced yesterday.
The Orioles were scheduled to go on the road the following day to face Twins right-handed pitcher Carl Pavano.
The 26-year-old Taiwanese lefty recorded one win and one loss in his three previous spring training appearances, with a 3.60 earned-run average. He surrendered nine hits, four earned runs and two walks and managed eight strikeouts in 10 combined innings this spring.

He threw 75 balls in his last start against the Boston Red Sox.
Chen, who struck a three-year deal in January with the Orioles, was projected by the Baltimore Sun to be the second starter in the rotation when the regular season begins next month.
Meanwhile, another Taiwanese pitcher, Lee Chen-chang, walked onto the mound as a set-up man for the Cleveland Indians in the last inning against the San Francisco Giants, where he allowed a double and one earned run. The Indians went down 5-3 to the Giants.
Lee, signed by the Indians in 2008, was invited to play in major league spring training this season for the first time. He has allowed a total of three runs and struck out six, and has a 3.86 ERA in seven innings in his six spring outings.
The Indians said Lee was likely to be in their roster.
