Nashville’s Mike Fisher scored a power-play goal and added two assists to lift the Predators to a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday in a clash of two of the NHL Western Conference’s top four teams.
Sergei Kostitsyn and David Legwand also scored for the Predators. Fisher, who sat out Sunday’s game in Dallas because of illness, broke the scoreless tie 5 minutes, 42 seconds into the second period.
Dale Weise had the lone goal for the Canucks, who missed an opportunity to move level with Detroit for the league lead.

In Chicago, Corey Crawford made 31 saves to help Chicago hold off Detroit in a matchup of Central Division rivals missing their top centers.
Jimmy Hayes scored the tying goal in the second period and set up Marcus Kruger’s winning score in the third as Chicago earned their fourth consecutive victory.
Valtteri Filppula had opened the scoring with a power-play goal for NHL-leading Detroit, which had won six in a row.
The Red Wings were without leading scorer Pavel Datsyuk, while Chicago were missing star center Jonathan Toews due to an upper-body injury.

In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 27 shots to tie the franchise record for career shutouts, helping Pittsburgh top Eastern Conference-leading New York.
Evgeni Malkin scored his 33rd goal of the season and added an assist on Steve Sullivan’s tally to help the Penguins bounce back from a listless loss in Buffalo, New York, on Sunday.
Pittsburgh posted their first home win over the Rangers since 2009.

In Toronto, Mark Fayne scored just over a minute into overtime to give New Jersey victory over Toronto.
Fayne’s weak shot from the point somehow found its way through goalie Jonas Gustavsson.
Petr Sykora had a goal and an assist for New Jersey, while David Clarkson and former Maple Leafs forward Alexei Ponikarovsky also scored for the Devils, who have won four games in a row.
Phil Kessel’s 31st goal of the season for Toronto came with 44 seconds left in regulation, forcing overtime. Tim Connolly had scored in the first period, while Clarke MacArthur added a goal in the second.

In Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jaromir Jagr scored in overtime to lift Philadelphia over Winnipeg in yet another high-scoring affair between these teams.
Philadelphia’s Wayne Simmonds had sent the game into the extra period with a goal with 10 seconds left in regulation.
Claude Giroux had a goal and two assists, Scott Hartnell added a goal and an assist and Maxime Talbot also scored for the Flyers.
Andrew Ladd scored a pair of goals 64 seconds apart, while Dustin Byfuglien and Evander Kane also netted for the Jets.
These two teams played each other four times this year for an aggregated of 39 goals, including the Jets 9-8 win last October.
COYOTES 5, KINGS 4, SO
In Glendale, Arizona, Radim Vrbata scored his second goal late in regulation as Phoenix rallied from a three-goal deficit to beat Los Angeles in a shootout.
Shane Doan also had two goals to help extend Phoenix’s point streak to nine games.
Vrbata scored on a power play with 2:27 left, then Ray Whitney and Mikkel Boedker scored for Phoenix in the shootout, which ended when Los Angeles defenseman Jack Johnson missed wide right.
Drew Doughty, Andrei Loktionov and Dustin Brown scored in the first period, while Justin Williams added his 12th goal in the second for the Kings.
OILERS 6, FLAMES 1
In Calgary, Alberta, Sam Gagner scored a goal and added two assists, while Edmonton broke out with four unanswered goals in the second period in a rout of Calgary.
Jordan Eberle, Ryan Smyth, Taylor Hall, Ales Hemsky and Eric Belanger also had goals for the Oilers, who had won only one of nine on the road going in.
Scott Hannan netted just his second goal of the season and first in 52 games to provide the only score for the Flames, who lost in -regulation for the first time this month. Calgary had won 10 straight at home against the Oilers and beaten them in 16 of 17 meetings.

In Montreal, Ryan Garbutt scored his first NHL goal and Kari Lehtonen made 31 saves as Dallas beat Montreal.
Mike Ribeiro and Tom Wandell also scored for the Stars.
The shots were 9-0 in favor of Dallas before Montreal recorded their first at 8:14.
For a fifth straight game, the Canadiens allowed their opponent to strike first when Garbutt, just called up from the minors, snapped a shot from the circle over a crouched goalie.
LIGHTNING 3, DUCKS 2
In Tampa, Florida, Steven Stamkos scored twice to push his NHL-leading total to 42 goals, and added an assist as Tampa Bay beat Anaheim.
Stamkos has five goals and eight points over his past three games.
Teddy Purcell added a goal and two assists for the Lightning, who have won three in a row.
Saku Koivu and Bobby Ryan both had a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who lost in regulation for the first time in 10 games.
Tampa Bay were without captain Vincent Lecavalier, who will be sidelined indefinitely by a broken right hand.

In Buffalo, New York, Ryan Miller made 30 saves to help Buffalo hold off New York.
Tyler Myers and Thomas Vanek staked the Sabres to a 2-0 lead and they held on to move a point above the Islanders in the Eastern Conference standings.
Frans Nielsen scored with 5:08 left to snap the Islanders’ goal drought at 106 minutes, 51 seconds.
