Andrej Meszaros scored at 4:42 of overtime to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders in the NHL on Thursday night.
Meszaros struck a 25-footer from the slot over Al Montoya’s right shoulder for his fifth goal of the season. Mike Richards, Jeff Carter and James van Riemsdyk also scored for the Flyers.
Matt Martin had two goals for the Islanders, including a shot with 27.2 seconds left in the third period to send the game into overtime.
The Flyers won their 12th straight game over the Islanders at home, and the 19th of their past 20 games against New York overall.

In Montreal, Phil Kessel had two power-play goals and two assists and Tyler Bozak had two goals and an assist to lead Toronto over Montreal.
Kessel assisted on both of Bozak’s goals as Toronto recovered after blowing an early 3-1 lead.
James Reimer made 31 saves for the Maple Leafs, which are on an 8-2-2 run.

In Nashville, Tennessee, Corey Crawford stopped 31 shots as Chicago beat Nashville in coach Joel Quenneville’s return to the bench after missing four games with a bleeding ulcer.
