The Atlanta Hawks’ NBA winning run of seven games was ended by resurgent New Orleans on Saturday, with the Hornets winning 96-88.
Rookie Darren Collison had 22 points and 11 assists for his first double-double, and New Orleans won its third straight as it seeks to make up for a slow start to the season.
The Hornets made 12 of 17 3-point attempts.

In Cleveland, the hosts clamped down defensively in the fourth quarter to hold on against Philadelphia.
LeBron James scored 32 points, adding nine assists and seven rebounds while Mo Williams added 18 points.
Philadelphia could only manage 10 points over the final 12 minutes. Lou Williams led the 76ers with 22 points.

In Denver, the hosts notched a 15th straight regular-season home victory by cruising past Chicago.
Carmelo Anthony scored 30 points and Chauncey Billups had 21.
Anthony, the NBA’s leading scorer, reached 30 points for the ninth time in his first 13 games.
Derrick Rose scored 28 points for Chicago.

In Houston, Luis Scola scored 22 points and grabbed key rebounds in the final minutes as Houston held off Sacramento.
Spencer Hawes led the Kings with 24 points.

In Salt Lake City, Carlos Boozer scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half and overtime to lead Utah to its fourth straight victory, edging Detroit.
Andrei Kirilenko sank two free throws with 10 seconds remaining to provide the final margin.
Detroit’s Ben Gordon scored 25 points, but missed a potential tying 3-pointer in the final second.

In Memphis rookie Brandon Jennings scored 24 of his 26 points in the second half to set up Milwaukee’s third straight win, overcoming Memphis.
Charlie Bell added 19 for Milwaukee, 7-1 in its past eight.
Memphis’ Ersan Ilyasova finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

In Portland, Oregon, Portland handed Minnesota its 12th straight loss.
Martell Webster had 21 points and 13 rebounds and Brandon Roy added 18 points for the Blazers, winners of 11 straight against Minnesota.
Al Jefferson led the Timberwolves with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Minnesota hasn’t won since beating winless New Jersey in the season opener.
