Mike Ribeiro scored the lone goal in the shootout, Marty Turco stopped all three shots he saw in the tiebreaker and the Dallas Stars beat Los Angeles 3-2 to extend the Kings’ skid to four in the NHL on Saturday.
Jere Lehtinen had a goal and an assist for the Stars, who played their fourth straight overtime game and ninth in 14 overall. Ribeiro had Dallas’ other goal.
Dustin Brown had a goal and an assist for Los Angeles. Alexander Frolov had the other goal for the Kings, who have been outscored 15-4 in their losing streak.

At Washington, Alexander Semin’s third-period goal gave Washington a win over Boston, snapping the Bruins’ four-game winning streak. They had also won seven straight on the road.

SABRES 3, HURRICANES 1
At Buffalo, New York, Tim Connolly scored twice and Ryan Miller made 36 saves as Buffalo sent Carolina to its fifth straight loss.
Teppo Numminen also scored for the Sabres, who won their second straight. Numminen later left after being hit in the face with a puck.
Ray Whitney scored for the Hurricanes, who are on their longest regulation losing streak since dropping the final six games of the 2002-03 season.
DEVILS 3, ISLANDERS 1
At Uniondale, New York, Zach Parise had a goal and an assist for New Jersey, which stretched its winning streak to three and handed the New York Islanders their seventh straight loss.
Scott Clemmensen stopped 31 shots for his 17th win of the season, and the first of his career against the Islanders.
Travis Zajac and David Clarkson also scored for New Jersey, which improved to 4-1 on a six-game road trip that concludes Monday in Nashville.
Blake Comeau had the only goal for the Islanders, who own the NHL’s worst record.
CANADIENS 5, SENATORS 4, SO
At Ottawa, Alex Kovalev and Maxim Lapierre scored in the shootout and Jaroslav Halak stopped both Ottawa shooters for Montreal.
Andrei Kostitsyn, Matt D’Agostini and Tom Kostopoulos also scored for Montreal, winner of 11 of 14 games since Dec. 16.
Dany Heatley scored twive, and Mike Fisher and Chris Kelly for Ottawa, which failed in its bid to win three games in a row for the first time this season.
PANTHERS 4, LIGHTNING 3
At Tampa, Florida, Jay Bouwmeester scored for a fourth straight game and completed Florida’s three-goal second period. Gregory Campbell, Cory Stillman and Richard Zednik also scored for the Panthers, who have won five of seven.
Tampa Bay got goals from Vincent Lecavalier, Vinny Prospal and Ryan Malone.
THRASHERS 7, PREDATORS 2
At Nashville, Tennessee, Ilya Kovalchuk had a goal and an assist, as Atlanta routed Nashville for its second win in two nights.
Zach Bogosian also had a goal and an assist, and Eric Perrin, Colby Armstrong, Bryan Little, Matthieu Schneider and Jim Slater added a goal apiece. Rich Peverley, claimed by Atlanta off waivers from Nashville a week ago, had three assists.
Jordin Tootoo and Shea Weber each scored for Nashville.
DUCKS 3, WILD 0
At St Paul, Minnesota, Corey Perry’s two goals and Jonas Hiller’s fourth shutout this season sent Anaheim over Minnesota.
Hiller made 30 saves, and Bobby Ryan also scored, sealing Anaheim’s second victory in six games. The Ducks also won for only the third time in 11 road games.
The Wild lost stalwart forward Andrew Brunette to an apparent right knee injury halfway through the game, putting his streak of 497 consecutive games played — currently the longest in the NHL — in jeopardy.
BLACKHAWKS 2, BLUES 1, OT
At St. Louis, Martin Havlat scored 1:23 into overtime, and Cristobal Huet made 27 saves to help Chicago past St. Louis.
Havlat’s 14th goal was the difference as the Blackhawks improved to 6-2 in the second of back-to-back games.
With David Backes off for hooking, Troy Brouwer tipped Cameron Barker’s slap shot past Manny Legace at 12:56 for his sixth goal.
St Louis finally beat Huet 3:12 into the third period when Backes scored his 15th of the season during a power play.
SHARKS 6, RED WINGS 5
At San Jose, California, Milan Michalek scored the tiebreaking goal on a breakaway with 9:42 to play as San Jose stayed on top of the Western Conference by beating Detroit.
Captain Patrick Marleau added another breakaway goal for the Sharks with 6:36 left, and Ryane Clowe contributed a career-high four assists to San Jose’s second win in three meetings this season with Detroit, the defending Stanley Cup champions.
San Jose moved back atop the overall NHL standings with 71 points — ahead of Boston.
Brian Rafalski scored with 1:56 left for Detroit, but Evgeni Nabokov made the last of his 29 saves to clinch San Jose’s 21st victory in 24 home games.
Dan Boyle, Joe Pavelski, Christian Ehrhoff and Jonathan Cheechoo also scored goals for the Sharks, whose 3-2 loss to Calgary on Thursday night ended their streak of 31 straight regular-season home games with at least one point.
COYOTES 4, FLAMES 3
At Calgary, Alberta, Mikkel Boedker scored the winning goal and added an assist as Phoenix snapped Calgary’s seven-game, home-winning streak.
Calgary responded just over a minute later when Mike Cammalleri deflected Dion Phaneuf’s slap shot past Ilya Bryzgalov for his second goal of the night to cut the lead to 4-3.
Trailing 3-1 after 40 minutes, Calgary rallied with Matthew Lombardi’s fourth goal at 3:17 on a slap shot from the blue line.
David Hale, Peter Mueller, and Olli Jokinen also scored for Phoenix, which has won four of five.
