Lien Lu-sen shoots 66 to take lead at the Bangkok Open

Taiwan’s Lien Lu-sen fired off six birdies to take a three-stroke lead in the third round at the Bangkok Airways Open yesterday.

Lien, 33, wrapped the day five-under 66. Tied in second were Thai duo Chinnarat Phadungsil, who posted a 65, and Thaworn Wiratchant, who carded a 68.

The leader heading into yesterday’s round, Filipino Antonio Lascuna, hit a triple bogey on the third hole to finish at 72 and fall to fourth place — which he shared with Japan’s Shintaro Kai, Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng and Briton Chris Rodgers.

“Before, negative thoughts used to creep in when I am in the running heading into the final round, but over time, I’ve managed to block everything out and focus on the task at hand,” he said.
