Caron Butler returned from a 16-game injury absence to help the Washington Wizards to a 101-99 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA on Thursday.
Butler, whose hip injury sent the Wizards into a February slump, scored the game's opening basket, survived some rough contact to make six of his first eight shots and finished with 19 points.
Cleveland's LeBron James marked his appearance on the cover of the April issue of Vogue with a spotty 25-point performance.
The victory put the Wizards back at .500 for the first time since Feb. 6 and in equal sixth place in Eastern Conference playoff standings.
Also on Thursday, in Phoenix, the Suns beat the Warriors 123-115 while in Sacramento the Kings were 96-85 victors over the Trail Blazers.
