Jeff Carter scored a goal and set up Mike Knuble's short-handed tally in the third period for the rebounding Philadelphia Flyers, who beat the New York Islanders 4-1 on Saturday for their third straight win after a 10-game winless skid.
Braydon Coburn also scored and Martin Biron made 33 saves in his third straight start.
Bruins 3, Thrashers 2, SO
In Boston, National Hockey League rookie David Krejci scored for the third straight game, helping Boston to its sixth straight victory.
Boston goalie Tim Thomas stopped NHL goal-scoring leader Ilya Kovalchuk of Atlanta on a last-chance shootout attempt to stretch its unbeaten streak to eight games.
Kovalchuk scored his 42nd goal for the Thrashers.
Sharks 2, Blues 0
In St Louis, San Jose recorded a fifth successive victory by shutting out the Blues.
Brian Boucher made 24 saves in his first start of the season for the Sharks.
