    Morgenstern wins again to extend lead in World Cup

    Thomas Morgenstern won his third-straight ski jumping World Cup meet on Friday in his 10th victory of the season.

    The Austrian had jumps of 132m and 128.5m, for a total of 272.4 points.

    The win strengthened Morgenstern's lead in the overall World Cup standings with 1,555 points. There are eight races left.

    Morgenstern's teammate Gregor Schlierenzauer was second with 268.1 points for leaps of 130.5m and 129m and is also second overall with 919 points.

    Andreas Kuettel of Switzerland was third after jumps of 128.0m and 130.5m for 260.8 points, and Finland's Janne Ahonen was fourth.

    The World Cup was to continue in the northern Czech town of Liberec yesterday.

    Morgenstern, 21, leads the overall standings by more than 650 point and scould wrap up the World Cup title in the second leg of jumping at the Czech venue where next year's world championships will take place.
